Description
The NOVA Advanced Crisis Response Team Training is a 24-hour training pre-approved by the National Advocate Credentialing Program (NACP)® & D-SAACP. The course is designed to build upon the essential skills and protocols from the Basic CRT Course. Participants will gain enhanced understanding of team development and leadership, addressing trauma affecting special populations, working with the media and understanding Family and Friends Reception and Reunification Center/Family Assistance Center development.
To earn a certificate of completion, students must attend ALL live class days and complete the end of class survey.
This is an In-Person Only Course and requires CCVAA Permission to enroll. This serves as the evaluation and certificate portal only. To earn a certificate of completion, students must successfully attend the 3 in person class days, participate in the Practice Exercises, and complete the end of class survey.

Chapter 10: Coordinating a Crisis Response Team

• To learn important elements of organizing a crisis response team
Chapter 11: Local Pre-Crisis Planning
• Figure out how you plug in to the local emergency management plan
• To examine key factors for local planning
Chapter 12: Managing the Media
• Identify principles and plans for how to communicate as a crisis responder or crisis response team.
• To examine how the media impacts trauma survivors
Chapter 13: Cultural Issues
• Culture is a filter and factor that creates layered issues for traumatic response and crisis intervention.
•To learn how cultural perception impacts trauma survivors
Chapter 14: Continuum of Age – Children
• Children have their own coping strategies when deal with traumatic events
• To explore the unique reactions of children to trauma
Chapter 15: Continuum of Age – Elders
• Elders often are forgotten in trauma
• To examine how elders respond to trauma
• To examine how physical and emotional disabilities can impact trauma survivors
Chapter 16: Stress of Caregivers
• Self care is not selfish!
• To examine what is stressful about responding to trauma
• To learn positive coping strategies for responding to trauma
